ABOUT

Maxwell Hiltner

For a lot of lawyers, it’s all about the money.

It could have been for me, too: I landed a cushy, high-paying job right out of law school defending insurance companies from individual claims.

But I realized almost immediately that my heart wasn’t in it.

As comfortable as the job was, I felt that I was on the wrong side of these issues. Instead of helping people fight for justice in front of juries as a great trial lawyer, I was doing research all day and representing nameless entities who had injured people.

So I quit and decided to start my own firm where I could work exclusively towards becoming the best trial lawyer I could be: a goal I still strive for every single day.

I protect my clients and their families as if they’re my own because these cases are personal for me.

A few years ago, my friend Blaise died due to medical malpractice at the young age of 29.

It was a tragedy that still weighs on me to this day. I was humbled to work with Blaise’s family to demand justice for their loss, and we were able to recover several millions of dollars in compensation.

But the best part of that trial wasn’t the money – it was knowing that I was able to help my friend’s family receive justice for the tragedy they had been through and forcing the hospital and the doctors responsible for his death face accountability for their mistakes.

When I decide to work with a client, I reverse roles with them. I try to imagine what it’s like to be in their shoes.

And when I tell my clients’ stories to a judge or jury, I feel proud knowing that I’m helping someone get their life back on track and fighting for the right cause.

All of my clients are entitled 24/7 access to me and my staff — including my personal cell number.

For me, it’s not about the money. It’s about helping people who have been through a tragedy fight for the future they deserve.
